NURTANE KARAGIL
LEAD PARTICIPATORY ARTS ADVISOR



Nurtane Karagil is a visual artist whose work spans painting, illustration, sculpture, video, and photography. She studied Fine Arts at Hacettepe University and holds an MA from the University of Brighton. She explores Cyprus’ socio-political landscape through themes of memory, dreams, and surreal fantasies contrasted with daily life. Her art has been exhibited internationally, including in the Czech Republic, UK, Northern Ireland, Greece, Turkey, and Cyprus. Karagil also collaborates with non-governmental organisations to create workshops and curricula on ecology and human rights both locally and abroad. Currently, she serves as an art lecturer at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Famagusta, Cyprus.
